~:Dream Theory:~

Hallo ihr...the math test is over at last...*sighs in relief* but but but i'm so gonna drown in homework this weekend!! =/ especially for Chem, much as i like doing it...I have to complete the Halogens tutorial...Electrochemistry homework and get Food Chemistry ready!!! argh! wie grausam...nah nevermind...i'll get it done. =)

I decided. I'm weak. how's doing a maximum of 8 pullups now sound?? it sounds really weak!!! hrmph. and i haven't fully recovered from yesterday's weights....-.- grrr.

Anyway, some Dream Theory for y'all...about somatic stimuli...well what is somatic stimuli? The stimuli of dreams caused by internal organs as well as sensory stimuli (sight/smell/taste/touch/hearing)...However, it has been proven that somatic stimuli doesn't ALWAYS cause dreams even though it may...just as it has been proven that a sleeping human can show seemingly intellectual behaviour. Also...how does the sleeping mind interpret the stimuli?? apparently so many variations are possible that if you could find a universal translation you would be win some prize for psychology immediately...How does the brain choose what it chooses to show as an interpretation? And the brain does react to such sensory stimuli: why do mothers awake when their infants cry?? Why do you wake if someone calls your name?? It's not that the brain is incapable of interpretating the data, just that the brain becomes disinterested in sensory data...

It has been put forward that the somatic source dreams manifest in the form of a house, with many parts representing the different organs. however, this has been very much argued against, for how did this theory come about? and people do not always dream of houses, nor are dreams of houses congruent to somatic dreams!

An analogy of what i said above about interpretation and becoming disinterested: If you asked the brain if he was awake he'd say "yes." if you then asked him to lend you 10 bucks he'd curl up somewhere and say "Ich bin doch eingeschlafen!" it's a state between awakeness and slumber i think...i think i need more analysis here.

Got canoeing tml. can't wait!! And the Amazing Race...also a must watch hahahaha...until then, ciao!
